Awards and Scorings

  2. Scoring Criteria
    1. The Judging Panel will evaluate the performance of Contestants based on style of work, harmony structure, musical sense, artistic appeal, and overall understanding of the work.
    2. If there is more than one round of competition, the results will be calculated based on the contestants’ performance in the Preliminary Round, First Round and Final Round.
    3. The casting of votes of the Young Artist Level and 2nd Hong Kong International Flute Competition Grand Cup will be done via an electronic poll with the whole Judging Panel.
    4. The scores of all competitions will not be disclosed to the public or any Contestants.
    5. Contestants shall respect and accept the final score given by the Judging Panel. Judging Panel reserves the right of final decision on all music matters.
  3. Result Announcement
    1. Finalists of Junior/ Intermediate/ Senior Level and Shortlisted Contestants of Young Artist Level / 2nd Hong Kong International Flute Competition Grand Cup for the First Round will be announced via HKFA website on 3rd March, 2022 (Thursday).
    2. Winners of Elite Young Flautist Group I/ Elite Young Flautist Group II/ Amateur (Elementary)/ Amateur (Advanced)/ Junior Level/ Intermediate Level/ Senior Level/ Young Artist Level/ 2nd Hong Kong International Flute Competition Grand Cup/ Duet – Junior Level/ Duet – Intermediate Level/ Duet – Senior Level/ Duet – Young Artist Level/ Quartet – Junior Level/ Quartet – Intermediate Level/ Quartet – Senior Level/ Quartet – Young Artist Level/ Flute Ensemble With Other Instruments will be announced via HKFA website on 6th April, 2022 (Wednesday).
  4. Awards Distribution
    1. Each Contestants who completes a competition shall receive a comment sheet via email.
    2. If contestants participated in more than one competition, HKFA shall issue comment sheets for each competition level via email.
    3. Only English names will be shown on the comment sheet and certificate.
    4. Only comments by judging panel will be shown in the comment sheet. No marks or ranking will be listed on the comment sheet.
    5. Please select the option of receiving a physical comment sheet and certificate during application and pay the administrative fee of HK$250. Applications submitted after the deadline shall not be accepted.
