Hong Kong International Flute Competition

About HKIFC

Co-organized by Hong Kong Flute Association and Hong Kong Flute Academy, the 4th Hong Kong International Flute Competition (HKIFC) will be held from 2 April 2026 to 5 April 2026. HKIFC provides a rare opportunity for gifted musicians around the world to showcase their musicality and share their musical experiences. To encourage cultural exchange and enhance the accessibility of flute repertoire, our competition will be divided into categories that reflect the age and level of experience of participants. We welcome flute enthusiasts of all ages and levels to join us.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Hong Kong International Flute Competitions were both successfully held in 2018, 2021 and 2024 respectively which attracted over hundreds top young musicians from Europe, United Kingdom, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia. etc. Winners from the 1st Hong Kong International Flute Competition were offered a chance to perform at Hong Kong City Hall with our renowned jurors, such as Paul Edmund-Davies and Shigenori Kudo, while winners from the 2nd Hong Kong International Flute Competition had their performance clips uploaded over multiple social media platforms instead due to travelling restrictions under COVID-19.

This year’s competition will also be hosted as a hybrid event, consisting of preliminary-round video submissions and face to face final rounds, as well as the Gala Concert, which will be held in the Concert Hall of Hong Kong City Hall.
